Rabat’s The Renaissance cinema will welcome the Polish Film Weekend this May, from the 26 to the 28, in which three Polish films will be screened at 7:30 p.m. every night with free entry.
The event, being the fruit of a partnership between the Polish Embassy, the Renaissance Cinema, and the Hiba Foundation, an association that promotes art in culture in Morocco by organizing various events all over the year, will introduce the Moroccan public to exceptional Polish movies.
The first movie “Cold War” will be screened on the 26. Released in 2018, the historical drama is directed by Pawel Pawlikowski.
It tells the story of a music director in the 1950s who falls in love with a singer and tries to persuade her to flee Poland to France.
Playing on the 27, directed by Bartosz Blaschke, “Sonata” is a film about an autistic child with hearing loss who begins to learn sound through an auditory implant, and follows a dream to become a pianist.
On the last day, the film “Black Mercedes” will put an end to the Polish Film Weekend.
